Ask Yourself, What Have I Forgotten During This Holiday Season?

Ask Yourself, What Have I Forgotten During This Holiday Season?

It’s that time of year again, weather you dread this time of year or are full of excitement, you can defiantly feel the energy, especially if you are a mother of young children, we have convinced ourselves that in order to be of substance we must succumb to our false obligations of holiday shopping, decorating and cooking not because it brings us joy, but because we feel we need to in order to keep up with the Jones or to feel a false sense of connection.
We have become consumed with consuming and never satiated, we all yern for that connection with each other and the Divine so we do what we think we need to do with the endless todo list in order to feel a hopeful 20-30 minute piece of connection with our loved ones, yet it could be so much more if we cut out the material items and over consumption of sugar, alcohol and shopping, we could actually connect with our loved ones instead of taking the bate of overconsumption, this year I am focusing on simplicity (as much as I can), I will bake because I want to, not because I feel obligated, instead of focusing on the gift list, I want to focus on the time together, the interaction… I had a dream and before I drifted off to sleep I asked Yeshua, “What is it that I am
forgetting, what is the message you want me and the world to hear from you?”
That night my dream gave me answers, in my dream I show up to a dance showcase that I was in, because I was nervous, I decided to smoke some pot and I got super high, so high that I forgot all my steps to all the dances that I was about to perform, I also realized that I forgot my wardrobe at home, than I realized I couldn’t find my phone or had no connection to call my husband in order to ask him to turn around and get my wardrobe out of the closet to bring to me for the performance, I also dreamed about a beautiful table of gorgeous food that I had seen before in a higher self meditation/visualization with a stick of incense burning on it… the way I interpret this dream is, I(we) have a tendency to try to numb ourselves during the holiday season and we forget the whole point of the season with I believe is connection with our higher selves, each other and the Divine and Hope, we numb ourselves(me getting high to ease my nerves) with alcohol, sugar, shopping, with overconsumption, how can we connect if we can’t even feel… me forgetting my wardrobe could be translated to how can I perform if I’m not dressed for the part, we rely on how we look to other’s so much so that if we don’t have the right decorations up or the right clothing, we are trying to keep up with the Jones so much during this season that we don’t even allow ourselves to dance and enjoy the show unless we are in the right wardrobe… or me forgetting my wardrobe could also mean how can I complete my job or task if I don’t have my wardrobe, meaning sometimes just showing up is not good enough, maybe you are just showing up at home, but you are not completing your job or performance as a husband, wife, daughter, dad or mom by making eye contact with your kids or taking time to really connect with each other, or yourselves, maybe you are showing up to therapy once a week, but aren’t bringing the tools that you learned in therapy home with you. Me not being able to connect with my husband on the phone is us(all of us) not truly connecting with each other, we have lost connection with each other, we need to reconnect… the incense burning on the table of food, was an invitation to do a cleansing of our food and consumption, be mindful of what we consume, explore
